SNAKE REMOVAL GUIDE LINES
- WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR.
- USE THE CORRECT SNAKE.
- DO A GOOD INSPECTION. DRAW
A LAYOUT OF PROPERTY.
- NOTE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SNAKE. TYPE
OF SNAKE, COLOR, SIZE AND OTHER INFORMATION.
- NOTE WHERE SNAKE
OR SNAKES HAVE BEEN SEEN. MOST SNAKES ARE TERRITORIAL.
- LOOK FOR “SNAKEY” VEGETATION COVER, FOOD AND
WATER. THE PRIMARY INSTINCTS OF A SNAKE IS TO HIDE AND EAT. WHEN YOU FIND THESE TWO
OR THREE PRIMARY PLACES, YOU HAVE FOUND A GOOD LOCATION FOR THE CAHABA SNAKE TRAP.
TIPS FOR SETTING AND PLACING CAHABA SNAKE TRAP
OUTSIDE
- FIND THE RIGHT LOCATION. THIS
IS MOST IMPORTANT.
- PLACE THE TRAP CLOSE TO WALLS, WOOD PILES, HOLES IN THE GROUND AND
ANY PLACE SNAKES HAVE BEEN SEEN.
- CAMOUFLAGE THE TRAP WITH PINE STRAW, LEAVES, OR MATERIAL WHICH IS AROUND THE TRAP.
PUT SOME MATERIAL IN THE OPENING OF THE CAHABA SNAKE TRAP, EVEN A LITTLE MATERIAL ON EACH END OF THE GLUE INSERT.
DAMPEN OR WET MATERIAL ON THE TOP OF CAHABA SNAKE TRAP.
- LET THE TRAP
WORK, I HAVE CAUGHT SNAKES IN A TRAP THAT HAS BEEN IN ONE LOCATION FOR SIX WEEKS, BUT RELOCATE THE TRAP IF YOU NEED
TO.
- AFTER
CATCHING A SNAKE, PLACE THE CAHABA SNAKE TRAP IN THE SAME LOCATION. SNAKES LEAVE A SCENT
TRAIL THAT OTHER SNAKES WILL FOLLOW. YOU MAY CATCH ANOTHER SNAKE SOON AFTER THE FIRST CATCH.
NOTE:
IF YOU HAVE A VERY LARGE
SNAKE YOU NEED TO CAPTURE, YOU CAN USE TWO CAHABA SNAKE TRAPS TAPED TOGETHER WITH TWO GLUE INSERTS. THIS WILL MAKE
THE TRAP LARGE ENOUGH TO CATCH MOST ANY SNAKE WE HAVE IN THE UNITED STATE AND MOST ANY OTHER PLACE.
